The Lower Galilee has its own serene beauty and diverse landscape

It is famed for its forested hills, fertile valleys, gushing springs, olive orchards, scenic roads and interesting hiking trails. During springtime, the hills are cloaked with irises and wildflowers, a sight to be awed.

Many of the miracles of Jesus occurred on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.

Jesus went about all Galilee teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and disease among the people. Jesus walked on water, calmed the storm, fed the five thousand people and raised the dead.

Numerous sites of biblical importance are in the Lower Galilee.

It includes Mount of Beatitudes, Capernaum, Tabgha, Migdal, Mount Gilboa, Megiddo, the city of Nazareth, as well as archaeological sites from the early centuries of Christianity and ancient stone synagogues,

The Sea of Galilee is the lowest freshwater lake in the world.

It is the largest and the only natural freshwater reservoir in Israel. It has had a variety of names since biblical times. The cool waters are surrounded by beaches, kibbutzim, archaeological and recreational attractions.
